Poor
He expects you to know everything before you go to class.
Average
Everyone hates Moore because his first test is the hardest After that, you should be fine. His lectures are boring but you get credit just for showing up. That's the only thing that's annoyed me
Poor
Prof. Moore will help you in the best way he can. However, he tends to just code in class without even explaining it. Mimir autograding software is often extremely frustrating and is finicky at best. Prof. Moore tends to avoid answering questions as well. Piazza can occasionally be helpful. Overall, it's funny how this is called an intro.
Awesome
Professor Moore's CSCE121 isn't an intro programming class, however you will learn quite a bit. He is really intelligent especially when you ask for assistance, his syllabus is direct, and you can test yourself through mini quizzes before class. I recommend if you want an educator who will drive you to excel to take Professor Moore. There isn't easy homework loads, or any extra credit, and don't plan for lenient grading.
Poor
CSCE 121 is a very difficult class and Prof. Moore doesn't seem to be of much help. As far as I can tell, he's a very lovely guy, but he has no idea how to teach a class. Expect to spend several hours per week doing your own homework while listening to lectures that are just tangentially related. He wasn't the worst CSCE 121 prof though, so there's that.
Awful
Professor Moore is a great one. However, I wish he could do a better job as a better professor and understand that most students have no experience with computer science in C++. The exams are nothing to compare to the practice exams he'll provide. I wish he actually taught at a real intro level and not an advanced one.
