Jeremy Peters, FRSA, MBA (Cantab), is a lecturer in Music Business in the Department of Music at Wayne State University and a co-founder of Quite Scientific Records, while maintaining an active teaching, performing, researching, and publishing practice. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts. He previously held positions at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance, and a fourteen-year career as the Director of Music Publishing at Ghostly International.
Director of Music Publishing
• Helped to build music publishing, master licensing, music supervision, & rights management division (Ghostly Songs) of company while rising from intern to Director.
• Negotiate & manage client relations (in person & in writing) for all third-party music usages (incl. Fortune 500s) for all Ghostly-owned & managed IP worldwide.
• Oversee contracts, sales, & concurrent growth.
• Manage division financials, including P/L, royalty statements, invoicing, & hiring.
• Enact marketing programs for IP acquisitions to client community & create content for all mailings, email, new media, & marketing outreach.
Partner & Co-Owner
• Coordinate to nationally finance, manage, distribute and promote independent arts business.
• Secured national physical and digital distribution.
• Secured selection of artist by Starbucks/iTunes for their national Download of the Week.
• Write on behalf of company and co-actively post to New Media tools o/b/o company.
MBA Consultant
• Temporary consultant for Cambridge MBA Global Consulting Project
• Consulted on and delivered a sustainable business model and future-oriented strategy for digital education products.
• Researched for & non-profit education providers and multiple formats of delivery and certification (credentialing)

• Participated in the Finance Committee, helping the organization's financial change management strategy as they tripled the size of their staff and budget and opened a new location in Detroit's Eastern Market.
• Specialized in administrative and operational matters, helping develop an emergency preparedness policy.
• Consulted on HR policy issues, and ensuring that we had the structure in place to manage a larger staff in multiple locations.
• Worked with the commission to adopt and approving zoning and planning amendments and site plans.
• Led numerous official meetings of the Commission.
• Worked on the City's Capital Improvements Plan and Non-Motorized Transit Plan.
• Participated in projects and committees that helped modernize the way the city connects with residents about forthcoming development such as the planning process for the Allen Creek Greenway, the reconstruction of downtown density incentives.
• Served as a representative for the Commission to the Downtown Development Authority's cross-agency committee.
