Research Interests
• Systems biology approach to understanding physiology underlying complex traits in cattle cattle such as productive efficiency, longevity, and fertility.
• Using genetic information to improve sustainability and reduce environmental impact of cattle production
• Integration of –omics data with traditional metabolism to improve understanding and to create next generation models of metabolism
Specialties: Animal Nutrition and Metabolism, Functional Genomics, Metabalomics
Postdoctoral Research Associate
6 month Postdoctoral Research Associate, Organizing and planning gene expression study focusing on the changes in gene expression in the adipose tissue in relation to pregnancy and lactation and genetic merit for milk production, provide training to undergraduate student labor in the lab and animal facilities
Postdoctoral Researcher
Examine nutrient partitioning and gene level regulation of metabolism with abomasal infusion of nutrients. Integrate metabolic measurements with transciptomic data. Supervise animal care and undergraduate student labor. Provided guest lectures for Animal and Ruminant Nutrition courses
Postdoctoral Fellow
Integrate quantitative trait loci and functional annotation to identify potential causative mutations and to improve current selection markers for economically important traits in beef and dairy cattle. Supervise lab work for graduate students. Prepare funding applications and funding agency reports. Organize weekly lab meetings and lab functions.
