Awesome
Professor Schnellmann is cool. Student's who take one of her class end up taking all of her classes. She is the only intense pharmacology resources for undergrad students. I got so much more than pharmacology. I learned how to do a personal statement and what goes into letters of rec from faculty. She is a generous lady, smart, funny and irreverent.
Awesome
Dr. Schnellmann's class is my dream class. I had hoped pharmacy school would be just like this, so to get it four years early is fun. We laugh so hard we cry and Dr. S busts many popular myths. It is the best overview of medicine and pharmacy! The class had many student that are not studying to be an MD/PharmD because it is so amazing. Some even change their major after taking this class.
Awesome
For health professional and grad school in the BSPS major, this class is a weeder class. You likely cannot do the harder work later if you cannot pass this. Only the best ones survive in this class. Some only learn for the first time that they are not prepared for college and beyond. I admired the relentlessness and rigor because it replicates medical/pharmacy school.
Awesome
Easily the most demanding person I've ever seen put into the position of a professor. While he gives good explanations and examples, a lot students simply can't deal with it. He wants our tuition to be a real return on investment, so he sets expectations that really can't be followed by many. Sure, I'll be better at writing after this class, but it was backbreaking.

Controversies in Pharmacology Volume III
This class lesson planner and collection of student essays are the product of a unique undergraduate course at the University of Arizona
a highly regarded research-intensive institution in Tucson. In this class
students demonstrated an understanding of topics reflecting society’s deepest conundrums founded in pharmacology and basic science which affect all of us directly or tangentially via decisions made by health and medical policy leaders. This book “curates” those topics and offers thoughtful persuasive essays written by undergraduate students who share their ideas about controversies in pharmacology that confound and complicate our human existence. Topics were chosen for cultural and sociological relevance
importance to young persons
and value to students in the prime “season” of formulating lasting opinions to life’s problems and potential solutions. Controversies covered by the students were as follows:\n•\tLethal Injection\t•\tPlacebo and Nocebo Effects\n•\tThe Journey of Ru-486\t•\tThere’s a Drug for That!\n•\tConscience Clauses in Medicine\t•\tThe US Opioid Problem\n•\tScheduling Drugs\t•\tBlack and Gray Market Drug Purchasing\n•\tAddiction: A Fiction?\t•\tSupplements and Homeopathy\n•\tCompassionate/Expanded Drug Use\t•\tDrug Advertising
