Good
Towards the end with combined loading she got confused sometimes and was tough to follow. She was okay teaching mechanics but better at statics She did a final project that wasn't well planned and was unclear. Usually she was pretty good, did a lot of examples. Reading the book helps, homework is optional. I had Jenny for statics as well.
Awful
I don't think Professor Johannsen understand the material very well herself. I got an A in this class but still would not recommend her. She is not charitable towards students and she doesn't understand the subject well enough to answer complex questions.
Awful
Professor Johannsen is a nice woman but her teaching skills are pretty bad, at least in AERE261. She doesn't have any confidence in her work and will often ask herself in front of the class if she did things correctly. This should be a good intro to aero and be a fun class, but she makes it boring and just reads her lectures from a textbook. Trust me, choose a different professor.
Awful
I strongly recommend you reconsider taking this professor, if at all possible. The assignments and exams are created the night before and the class lacks structure and order.
Awful
Professor Johannsen's grading criteria is unclear. The clear description of assignments are nowhere to be found. Also, she will grade you harshly on a rubric that we don't even know.
