The most important thing about Prof. Smith is that there is no textbook. The tests are all lecture-based! There are only three grades during the semester. They are really three tests, so be sure to prepare. Your best test grade is counted as being worth more either of the other two. If you show up to class you may get an extra credit added to your grade. for showing up to class, but not often.
Good
Dr. Jason Smith was a pretty good professor. His Lectures were long, but he told good laugh jokes. It was an easy A. You should study because those are the only grades you get. EC was given when 50% of the class was absent
Good
Doesn't utilize a reading material, just 3 tests. Says he haphazardly gives additional kudos for participation, however it just happened twice this semester. He doesn't react to email all the time so you're in an ideal situation conversing with him in class. Tests are 100% talk based. Simple class on the off chance that you appear and focus.
Good
For POLS, he's a pretty good professor. He's really funny, gives useful feedback, and makes a boring class kind of interesting. He tends to ramble quite a bit. Class is all lecture based so you really have to take notes. He gives extra credit randomly so don't miss class. However, it takes him quite a long time to grade exams.
Good
Prof. Smith is a funny teacher who makes the class really interesting. Class is graded from 3 tests, with your highest weighted at 40%. He gives extra credit from time to time to boost your highest test grade. Sometimes, he goes off on tangents in class so it can be quite difficult to pay attention. Overall, it was a good class though!
Awesome
Professor Smith is the best lecturer for POLS 206 by far. The only con is that his tests are lecture heavy. I'm just going to scrape by with a B because I skipped a lot of class. Just go to class and pay attention, he will give extra credit for attendance sometimes.
Awesome
Professor Smith is honestly amazing. I loved going to his class. His lectures are hilarious and he is constantly cracking jokes. There are only three exams to take. The highest one counts for 40% and the other two count for 30% each. There is no final. He offers extra credit in class sometimes and sometimes if someone takes surveys in class.
Awesome
Prof. Smith is amazing! He's super funny and caring and really cares about his students. I got a C only because I didn't put forth any effort till the end and my first 2 test scores hurt me. I wish I had kept up with the notes and readings because I could have got a higher grade. He also sends out a really helpful study guide before the tests.
Awesome
Prof. Smith is funny and has a great passion for what he is teaching. His class is never boring. You can't afford to mess up on an exam though since your grade just comes from three exams. His study guides help a lot for preparing for exams so be sure to use them to your advantage! Also, you have to be patient when sending him an email, he takes some time responding.
Awesome
Prof. Smith was definitely my fave prof the entire semester. He does an amazing job of making lectures interesting and engaging. Class isn't mandatory but I personally think that you should go. He gives bonus answers, test questions, and extra credit regularly.
Awesome
Prof. Smith gives hilarious lectures. Students are only graded by 3 exams with no final. I'd definitely suggest going to class because you're tested over what he says in class. He's amazing! I would definitely take him again!
