Awful

I'm a biology major and also took upper biology courses at University of North Florida. But, I had to take MCB 2010C which is a prerequisite for my graduate program. Out of gen chem1 -orgo2 physics 1/2 and all the biology classes I've taken, this is the hardest due to Professor Swenson. I just got an A because I knew the information from the past classes.

Good

Professor Swenson is so wise, interesting and her intellectual lectures are under-rated. MCB makes MCB tough, not her. She gives you so much to help you to succeed. The bad reviews or grades, are from people who are not ready to put in the effort on tough sciences classes and majors, which they need someone to blame. Studying for her class will take time. You've been warned, so be ready.

Poor

Doctor Swenson's class is so unreasonably complicated. It's ridiculous. I respect her and think she's a nice lady. However, this class is so difficult because of the way it is set up. You'll never be notified when there are assignments. The grading is very tough and you can never get in touch with her. I wouldn't recommend her class, unless it's your only option.

Good

You'll have to work for your grade, but it's pretty doable!! After hearing her reviews from students, I was actually nervous to take her. I got an A, so I believe you can too! I suggest you visit her office hours, go to every SI session, study her notes, and read the textbook. Once you get to know her, she's actually very sweet and helpful!
