Awesome
Without a doubt the best professor I've had. She is light-years ahead of anyone else in her field. She cares genuinely about her students and has a great sense of humor. She is an absolute professional. I've only had her for eight weeks and she is like a mother to me, seriously.
Awesome
Professor Countryman for president. She's a great facilitator and the course is great as well.
Awesome
Such an amazing human being! I feel like the world would be really dull without her!

"Communication is primary." My training and experience provide me with the ability to mentor individuals and organizations in navigating barriers and attaining goals. Currently, I work with first-year college students as they transition into the university setting and students across the university in Liberal Arts courses.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
Communication Studies
During my undergraduate education, I won numerous scholarships and essay-writing awards, including the Preston Eagleson Award for outstanding achievement in writing about the African-American experience. I also studied abroad twice. In London, UK, I researched the personal papers of the suffragette Emily Wilding Davison. In Wroclaw, Poland, I interviewed young women about their perceptions of feminism before and after the Cold War. For three years, I worked as a peer mentor in the Speakers Lab where I assisted students create and prepare for academic presentations.
Master of Arts (M.A.)
Applied Communication
During my graduate education, I maintained a 4.0 GPA while teaching and volunteering for the Department of Communication Studies and working other full- and part-time jobs. My focus of study was intercultural-interpersonal communication. To this end, I applied for and was awarded a federal grant to study abroad in Russia where I researched the relationship between the Russian healthcare system and Tsyganye, or Romani, communities. I have been published twice, once in the university's student literary magazine, "Genesis", and again in the peer-reviewed, open access "Journal of Teaching and Learning". My thesis is entitled, "Borderland journeys: A layered autoethnography".
Genesis
This memoir focuses on making meaning of the initial moments following the discovery that my best friend had committed suicide.
