    PhD Student

Dissertation Research: Investigation for Genetic Determinants of Congenital Flexion Contractures and Contracted Foal Syndrome in Thoroughbred Foals.\t\t\nDescribes the results of the first attempt to identify a genetic basis underlying congenital flexion contractures and contracted foal syndrome in a horse breed. Involved sequencing a candidate gene and the identification of candidate genes using a genome-wide genotyping approach. In addition

a preliminary classification system has been proposed to delineate and characterize the heterogeneous condition to facilitate future studies and aid veterinarians in communicating the disorder.
