Educational Technology
Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education International Conference (SITE) 2007:1 , Mar 26, 2007
A goal of our PT3 project is to enhance inservice art teacher technology skills. Comprehensive instruction is offered in overall use of the computer as a teaching tool in the classroom, and in the use of specific software to develop interactive curriculum materials that incorporated text, photographs, video and sound. This paper examines the overall impact of the training on the K-12 art teachers' professional lives in their school settings and their ability to effectively integrate computer-facilitated technologies (Delacruz, 2004) into instructional materials. Data collected from observations, focus group interviews, and technology generated teaching materials indicated a developing competence in their pedagogical abilities to utilize and apply methods of instructional technologies, and a dire need to interact regularly with others in their field.
