Prof. Gustafson made it clear from the very beginning that my writing wouldn't get an A unless they lined up with what he liked. Sure enough that's what he did. He would say that quality of my writing is good, but he still wouldn't give me an A because I disagreed on the finer points and I wouldn't change up my style.

Jim Gustafson holds a M. Div. from Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University in his home town of Evanston, Illinois and an MFA from the University of Tampa. He is the author of Take Fun Seriously (Limitless Press, 2008), Driving Home, (Aldrich Press, 2013), and Unassisted Living , and Friar Fred’s Diary (Big Table Publishing, 2017).He teaches at Florida Gulf Coast University. Jim and his wife Connie live in Fort Myers, Florida where he reads, writes, and pulls weeds.
