I feel like being in the presence of Jaan Laane has a mystic feel to it. You are getting a lecture from (in a sense) a father of the material being taught to you. He has lived an incredibly driven life pursuing the knowledge of higher-level chemistry and we are honestly lucky enough to have him teaching us. You wouldn't regret taking his class!
