Awesome
Professor Stoia is a tough professor, but really he has to be. He will not only teach you about anatomy, but also about the real world. He will call you out and will be straight up with you, but he does it to teach you. All you have to do is pay attention, listen, and stop being overly sensitive. Honestly, he made me love anatomy. He helps more than other A&P professors.
Awful
Professor Stoia is not very understanding about accommodations and mental illness.
Awful
Actually used physical force with me. I was going to point at a part of the skull with my pencil, forgetting that we can only use the stick during our oral tests, so he grabs my arm and shoves it out of the way, saying "these are very expensive". Ummmm do NOT touch me.
Awful
Professor Stoia had so many pet peeves. First, you can't be late even by a couple minutes because he will call you out. Second, you can't talk to anyone else only to him, while the class is going on. Lastly, you can't take down notes if he didn't say you can. In addition to that, he doesn't want to be bothered. He threatened to fail me for trying to submit laboratory work early. So, I dropped the class.
Awful
Be ready to get called out for breathing too hard if you take this class. He will call you out for being five minutes late, and if somebody says one word to you he will force you to separate. He yells at you if you write while he is talking. Will call you a horrible person for being on your phone. Also, gets mad if you start to put away your stuff thirty seconds before class ends.
Awful
I suggest you really take note of the negative feedback here! If you want to be treated as an adult, do not take this class. He goes off on random tangents, constantly belittles his students, and yells at you for taking notes. He isn't open to any correction and he isn't so unapproachable. He doesn't see any error in how he treats students after previous complaints.
