Leadership Coach--the Relentless one!
Coaching to get where YOU want to go!

I help leaders confidentially process sensitive situations they don’t want to share with board, employees, spouse—you might call me a thinking partner.

Executives hire me to maximize confidence in their decisions because I help them identify, understand, and communicate the complex issues that affect their future!

Seeking interesting people working on important projects who have their own 🛩 who are in military, government, businesss &/or philanthropy!

Signs you may want to connect and communicate:
• it’s lonely at the top and you want to commiserate!
• you need to be kept away from sharp objects!
• you are in crisis of some kind!
• somebody has to go!

It's difficult to document details where discretion dictates deletion. However, to give potential clients a flavor of what I do, the general outline is provided without PII. The vignettes below may appear overly generalized and obfuscatory—this is intentional.

• whistle-blower--guide, protect, relocate.
• reinstatement of professional licenses—one 👍🏻; one 👎.
• re-bench.
• NOTA 1984.
• celebrity endorsement, book signing, photo opportunity.

The more pedestrian clients seek:
• bios.
• résumé review.
• LinkedIn review.
• interview practice.
• career planning.

Would like cases:
• lobbying for self flying cars.
• Senate confirmation.
• ethical but not legal (e.g. Gandhi overthrowing the British government.)
• special ops.
I tend to wander in where angels fear to tread.

Nothing offered herein is to be construed as legal or mental health work.

Success is not assured--but we advocate vigorously for the worthy clients accepted.

Not a LION. Do believe in some level of KYC—Know Your Connections!

M.o.:
• removing limiting beliefs!
• empowerment—even eagles need nudges,
• accountability!

Are you ready to get started?

  • JT Shim

    Aviation Enthusiast / Aeronautical Research.

    Over the last several decades I have been interested and researched many aspects of the aviation industry. I have also flown at the controls of a variety of aircraft, (whether loggable or not) including but not limited to:
    * hot air balloons in US and Europe
    * Cessna 150
    * Cessna 152
    * Cessna 172
    * Cessna 177
    * Cessna 210
    * Citation CJ II
    * Eclipse 500
    * LongEZ
    * Lake Amphibian 270
    * Robinson 22 helicopter.
    Loggable hours: 24+.

    Jumpseated on several commercial craft: Air Jamaica landing into Jamaica, SAS over waypoint in Rangoon, FedEx to SFO, MEM, MCO, etc.

    Parachute jump--1.

    Co-conceived, co-funded and executed a philanthropic clandestine night op involving 9 personnel, two aircraft which traveled 93 miles one way to glide over the thresh hold within a minute of schedule.

    Toured control towers in Trinidad, Orlando, Memphis, etc.
    Took ATC (Air Traffic Control) examination.

    Worked with Buddy Bombard Balloons in Beaune, France.

    I am an avid researcher and some of the books and articles that I've read on aviation and aeronautical topics include but are not limited to:
    * "The Naked Pilot" [LinkedIn used to have a book section where there this book was listed]
    Tenerife (Karl Weick)
    CRM (Cockpit Resource Management)
    HRO (High Risk Organizations)
    Age 60 Rule

    One of the areas that I am passionate about is the mandatory retirement of pilots when their chronological age hits 60-65 even when they may have no physical nor mental limitations. It deprives the flying public and myself from having the most experienced minds in control.

    Accident analysis--I like to study and learn what the technical, cultural and regulatory factors that contribute to accidents.

    Yield management--I like to find the best combination of factors so that revenue is optimized.

    Braniff bankruptcy--studied the economic and regulatory factors that lead to their demise. Consulted with former Braniff captain, John J. Nance, now lawyer, author, and consultant.

  • A Plus Team LLC

    MP (Managing Partner)

    A Plus Team is dedicated to collaborating to help get people where they want to go: academically, professionally, financially, politically, psychologically, logically, literally, legally and ethically! Helping people get where they want to go. Where do you want to go?

    As much as I absolutely love what I do, and have oodles of hours doing it, this is no longer a free-based service, but a fee-based service.

    The perfect client is one that is referred and has an interesting problem or cluster of tough, vexing, and/or challenging personal and/or professional problems that others hesitate to tackle. Whether they want to solve it or just talk it over confidentially, either is fine.

    However, once client determines a destination, and indicates a schedule or pace, this coach tends to be relentless in reminding--"reasonable progress in reasonable time." [Rohn] Ideally the client is fully equipped with their own means of air, ground &/or sea transportation and has discretion.

  • The Constitution Now--amendment ASC 215

    TIME

    As Richard Stengel says, the reasons to exclude foreign-borns from the presidency have long since vanished. It's time to allow all citizens the opportunity to hold the highest office in the land unconstrained by the immutable characteristic of country of birth — which one has no control over. If the U.S. truly believes in equality, meritocratic values and the implications of the 14th Amendment, it should clearly signal so by eviscerating the clause with another amendment. J.T.
