LinkedIn is now so popular that people need more than just a name and an employment history to know whether they want to make contact. As a result, I offer this summary to help people understand what I consider my most important professional information.
Of primary importance, readers may want to know my current work. I teach writing and philosophy courses at a local university. In my spare time, I also train and coach in online courses. I have done such work for a number of years, decades really, in a variety of disciplines.
Lately, I have been using Web 2.0 technologies to facilitate community-building activities in educational contexts. I have begun to use Google+ actively in my classes, and I find the Hangouts feature particularly valuable in this regard.
This brief summary is a small sample of my interests and activities, so that readers may be able to decide whether or not to connect with me. I would like to interact with educators and others interested in community-building using social media. Please contact me through one of the groups I belong to or directly through my LinkedIn account.
