Jayla Lee joined San Diego State University as a lecturer in Fall 2018, and has been an instructor since 2016. She teaches courses on public relations and research methods in mediated communication.
This fall, she will continue her role as a lecturer and also faculty advisor for SDSU’s Advertising Club and student chapter of Her Campus. Lee also taught Introduction to Computer Graphics this summer at Saint Francis High School in Sacramento.
Lee earned her Master’s Degree in Communication from SDSU in 2018. She previously served the university as a Communications Assistant to the Office of the Provost, Media Relations Assistant, and Public Affairs/Communications Specialist for its School of Journalism and Media Studies.
She is passionate about helping students succeed, contributing to the world through research, and creating content that celebrates organizations she believes in. Lee is seeking opportunities to grow as an educator, PR professional, and content creator.

-Pitched and secured national media coverage including an appointment in The Chronicle of Higher Education and faculty spotlight in the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
-Wrote university news releases.
-Wrote articles for its marketing campaign entitled, “Made at Sac State.”
-Photographed, pitched, and covered major university events including CSU Chancellor Tim White’s visit to Sacramento State, Spring Commencement, and the Air Force ROTC Commissioning Ceremony at the California National Guard Hangar at Mather Field.

-Teach JMS 489 Research Methods in Mediated Communication, 106 students.
Course content includes introduction to experimental, survey, and content analysis research methods. Understand, interpret, and critique research results; report research findings to general public.
