This body of work examines discipline in the elementary school classroom and if the presence of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects this discipline. Specifically noted was if students of different racial ethnic backgrounds

    with the ADHD diagnosis

receive different levels of discipline for the same infractions. A total of 409 teachers from three counties in the State of Georgia participated in a vignette survey to help determine if the students’ race

    teachers’ race

and/or teachers’ gender had any effect on the level of discipline that was chosen for students with an ADHD diagnosis who had violated some classroom rule.

    As an Outpatient Therapist

I was responsible for conducting individual and family therapy sessions. My responsibilities included the management of a caseload of 50-70 children/adolescents (ages 5-19) whose problems ranged from ADHD

    to ODD

to Depression to Bipolar Disorders. Treatment consisted of an initial diagnostic assessment I completed that involved the following: (1) identifying areas in need of treatment; (2) making treatment plans

and (3) conducting counseling sessions for a 6-month period. At the end of 6 months

all clients were re-assessed and further diagnosis was made regarding their level of continued or post-treatment care. In this professional role

I also ran adolescent substance abuse group therapy sessions

and anger management group sessions. The diagnostic assessment skills utilized for clients experiencing mental health issues were also used for this population

but included after hours care (on call phone for 1 week/month) as well as preventive counseling measures. I am well-versed in MICPS

    Medicaid requirements

    billing

    and paperwork.\t \n\nIn addition

I supervised individuals who were on the IFI (Intensive Family Intervention) team that provided services to clients in the home and community at-large. I reviewed their paperwork

    reviewed their caseloads

and gave clinical feedback and interventions for implementation and improvement. Each IFI worker reported to me and I had the task of checking their clinical notes and getting pre-authorizations for the services they provided.
