I served on the Editorial Board for Professional Safety including one term as Chair. I also served a term on the technical publications committee.

I have recently retired. but did some additional teaching through 2015. I taught courses covering subjects such as Life Safety, Safety Management, Incident Investigation, System Safety and Risk Assessment, Basic Fire Prevention and Fire Hazard Recognition. In addition I have provided consultation to industry, government and the legal profession on a variety of issues. I also served on Faculty Council and was the University Laser Safety Officer. In 2017 I taught a semester in China.

Provide services to clients including industrial organizations, government agencies and the legal profession regarding safety and occupational health matters.

• Compliance with Federal safety standards particularly -- 29 CFR 1926 (OSHA construction), 29 CFR 1910 (OSHA General Industry) and US Dept of Energy Standards
• Compliance with consensus safety standards (ANSI, UL, NFPA, etc.)
• Development of safety programs for construction or general industry
• Design of the workplace to reduce injuries and associated workers’ compensation costs.
• Investigation of accidents
• Safety during hazardous waste remediation projects.

Initial Professional Safety faculty member for a new degree. I provided significant input and course development for the fledgling program. This program has remained viable and grown into a respected program.
