College Station, Texas
I am interested in all aspects of undergraduate education, including teaching, research, and mentoring. My current activities include teaching the Chemistry 481 seminar course, which is a communication-intensive "C" course. I also regularly teach the Horizons in Chemistry Course that introduces new chemistry majors to the opportunities afforded to them, as current and former students. I also teach physical chemistry lecture and laboratory. In the past, I have taught Molecular Science for Citizens, which introduces the importance of chemistry in our everyday lives to non-science majors.
I am undergraduate advisor in the Department of Chemistry, so I assist students with course selection, degree planning, and career planning. I also oversee enrollment management and our undergraduate chemistry curriculum, as well as chair our Undergraduate Awards Committee.
Since 2007, I have directed our department's REU program. We have hosted dozens of students from other institutions, providing them with meaningful research experiences.
