Professor Falks was an okay teacher. I feel like there are better teachers to learn public speaking from. Make sure you come to every class because participation is a major part of your grade. The class gets better as the semester goes on.

Stage Write Mission: to share stories from our youth that uplift the human spirit
challenge the mind
and honor both our individuality and our shared humanity.\n\nStage Write is a project through which Richmond City High School and Middle School students will have the opportunity to write and perform stories that are relevant to their lives and the issues they face. The goal is to help them build the confidence they need to become productive members of the adult world. Through performing arts training
we will improve life skills needed in today’s workforce: speaking and standing with confidence
maintaining eye contact
using appropriate diction
identifying interests
strengths
and weaknesses
and an ability to articulate these things. We will also develop workforce readiness skills through contextualized learning
teamwork
critical thinking
problem solving
self-awareness
and professionalism. In compliance with the 6th-12th grade Language Arts Standards of Learning
Stage Write strengthens verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
active listening
word choice
characterization
and overall oral presentation.\n\nStage Write is led by professional theatre artists versed in the creation of original curriculum
including creative writing
choreography
music
and ensemble training. Students will work with professionals to create a visual landscape inspired by themes explored in class and in their community. Original artwork
digital photography
and video techniques will all be incorporated as scenery for their final production.
