Visitor Experience Associate
The Visitor Experience Associate serves as part of a team, to provide a welcoming,
personalized experience for all visitors and members.
Reports to the Visitor Services Manager, but interacts regularly with museum personnel including the co-directors, Shop Manager, Café Manager, Weekend Coordinator, Visitor Services Assistant and volunteers.
The Visitor Experience Associate is primarily responsible for the museums admission
desk, shop, café and annex galleries. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the
following:
• Interest in art / contemporary art and actively engaging visitors through
discussion
• Monitoring galleries and museum annex buildings, making note of any exhibitions
maintenance needed and ensure visitors have a safe experience
• Knowledgeable about art on view to help answer questions and direct them to
resources
• Ensuring buildings are ready to receive visitors; during times of inclement
weather this includes snow removal and shoveling as necessary; maintaining clean
and stocked bathrooms in all buildings; trash removal from all buildings
• Staying attune to visitor experience; actively engaging with visitors to answer
questions and provide additional information about museum history, events and
education programming
• Troubleshooting; includes addressing emergency situations and following
protocol and procedures
• Providing lunch breaks to front of house staff, and providing support to staff,
including café manager
