Good
What we learned in lectures was put to practical use. When the term begins we are assigned an event, and all of those lectures apply to those events. She holds group meetings on Friday to keep everyone on track.
Awful
She has good experience and I think her advanced classes are better. Her intro class is awful. She ends her classes when she could use the time to explain the homework. Do not take her intro class but you can take her nonprofit PR instead.
Good
This was one of the most applicable classes I have taken in the major. The lectures teach you in the class and then you put on the event. To help, Professor Higgs would do group meetings with each event. You have to put in the work, but it is a fun course!
Good
Professor Higgs had enjoyable lectures. There are reading pop quizzes though so be prepared. But she always hints at them coming up. Tests are online but hard. There is a lot of work but if you do it, it's an easy A/B course.
Average
Professor Higgs's InDesign class was not well taught. He is helpful when you ask him questions. I recommend going to the labs, they are helpful. He does not require you to go to all of the labs.
Poor
She is a LAZY GRADER. After the first assignment she will determine if you are an A or B student and then just give you that grade repeatedly. Except for one assignment, I have gotten an 85 on all of them. She won't give you any feedback or even read any of your design analysis papers. You will only learn the bare minimum of inDesign.
Awesome
The classes are short and lectures are straight to the point. As long as you go to class, the tests are easy. She grades speeches harder than she does the tests.
Good
I loved events class under Professor Higgs. She will not require a book. Exams were tough but not impossible to pass. She holds one-on-one meetings with groups weekly. This is to help them to plan an event. Aside from that, she will do the grading based more on events than the exams.
Good
Prof. Higgs sets his standards really high. Exams are challenging but they are taken online. There was lots of work but he was very helpful in final exam prep. He gave short answer questions early as well.
