I am Professor and Chair of Business Programs at SUNY Broome Community College. I teach management, accounting, and freshman experience courses.
Most recently, I published a book [June 2019] entitled "Self-Management: Understanding, Communicating and Assessing Behavioral Competency - Third Edition". This self-study book introduces a new and comprehensive self-management model that helps students understand their own behavioral decision-making. With this model, I show students how their own behavior can affect not only their academic future, but also life after graduation. The book provides a practical framework, “how to” exercises, and self-tests for individuals, families, and schools seeking to establish, assess, or improve behavioral performance.
The book is available on Amazon at the link below.
Prior to teaching, I was a member of the start-up team that launched Omnipoint Communications, the first GSM wireless carrier in Northeastern United States [now part of T-Mobile]. I led strategic planning, quality assurance, budgeting, workforce management, training, and project management for the customer service division. Prior to customer service, I managed regional and corporate marketing operations. Before the company launched, I managed the development of the company’s handset and equipment warehousing and distribution operation, designed the business requirements, and managed the integration between the billing, point of sale/inventory, and warehousing and distribution systems. Before being acquired, Omnipoint grew to over two thousand employees and one million customers in only 3.5 years.
I started my career at UNISYS and Singer-Link in Quality Assurance Engineering before working for Texaco [now part of Chevron] and NYNEX Mobile Communications [now part of Verizon Wireless] in Corporate Communications.
