Lisbon Area, Portugal
I recently moved to Lisbon with my husband from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA. There, I was a Program Officer for a local education foundation responsible for making grants to NGOs working to improve literacy in public schools. I also taught a Seminar on Business & Society in the undergraduate College of Business at San Francisco State University.

I earned my BS degree in Management, Global Business & International Studies from Manhattan College in NYC, my MBA with an emphasis in Nonprofit & Social Enterprise Leadership from San Francisco State University, and I'm now working on a Postgraduate Diploma in International Studies from ISCTE here in Lisbon. My main interests are in exploring the:

--> Intersection of capital investments for social good
--> Relationship between quality education and economic empowerment
--> Connection between wealth and well-being

Additional interests include international travel, urban education, social entrepreneurship, ethical sourcing, impact investing, B Corps, women in leadership, and venture philanthropy.

With the blurring of the private, public, and social sectors, companies are exploring new ways to have a positive social and environmental impact through a number of strategies that affect all lines of business . In this course, we study these strategies, highlight responsible management best practices, and tie in applicable public policies and laws that both incentivize businesses to adopt the triple bottom line, and deter them from causing harm in pursuit of profits.
