Mr. Schmaedick’s experience is a unique mix of successful initiatives in teaching, program design, and implementation. His core knowledge and expertise is in grassroots economic development gained through work as designer, implementer and evaluator of numerous projects in Africa and Latin America. This experience enhances his work in the university classroom where for sixteen years he has taught undergrad and graduate courses in economics and business with a focus on international issues. He offers bilingual (English-Spanish) teaching fluency with ample experience in diverse, cross-cultural environments facilitating successful student guidance and performance. The results of his research and work have been published in books, monograms and teaching cases. He has a proven record of success in conceptualizing and developing methodologies to promote economic and social development of communities in the U.S., Latin America, and Africa. These experiences have been effectively translated into practical material to enrich the courses he delivers to his students. To support his work he has acquired valuable expertise in writing and supervising the preparation of proposals to fund applied research and the implementation of economic development programs.
