    Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

I am now a doctoral candidate in the Department of Communication at Georgia State University. I am in the Moving Image Studies track

specializing in the critical studies of television and film. \n\nMy primary scholarly interest is in television mystery and detective shows. I am particularly interested in those programs that are inspired by and/or reflect the so-called \"classical detective\" school of mystery fiction. As a scholar

I examine the historical evolution of this fiction on U.S. television. I am also interested in the factors within the U.S. television industry that have shaped said evolution. And

I do case studies of specified mystery programs

    analyzing their narratives

    ideologies

    and representations of identity.
