AccuV College Football Ranking Model
William Miles
This project consisted of an extension to a current mixed binary integer programming problem used to rank college football teams on the basis of minimizing \"game score violations\" (when one team is ranked below another team in which the lower ranked team had defeated the higher ranked team at some point). The result was a model that was superior in that it had addressed computational difficulties and multiple optima
while also incorporating relevant performance components such as strength of schedule
margin of victory
wins
losses
and home-field advantage.
