Awesome
Prof. Gneiting made himself important not only in my education but in my life. I took him for BI2 401 and 402. I actually wish I needed more of his classes. If you take his classes, keep an open mind, enjoy the fun of learning and rigor.
Awful
Profesor Gneiting doesn't know the difference between a theater course and the capstone course for an IDS degree. His assignments were completely unrelated to the subject matter. Unfortunately, he will not respond to emails on weekends due to some religious reason even though it's an online course. Also, expensive textbooks were required, even if we used only a couple of chapters from it. It's an easy A but unproductive.
Awful
Prof. Gneiting is very disorganized! He doesn't even know how to set up canvas properly and he'll even leave relics from prior classes. He's terrible at communicating as well. He actually makes the students grade the work in class and he gives bad feedback! Class is easy but really frustrating!!!!!!
Average
He is by far the easiest lecturer I've ever had at ASU. If you follow the directions carefully and perform exactly what he requests, you will get a perfect score on everything you submit. His requirements are pretty simple!
Arizona State University - Interdisciplinary Studies
Layne Gneiting (aka The Voice of Adventure) is a radical designer of breakthrough experiences. For nearly 20 years he has taught leadership, communication, and performance at Arizona State University, designing classes that students call “a literal life changer,” “tremendously rewarding,” and “the most enjoyable course I’ve ever taken.”
In 2009 Gneiting achieved a personal dream of cycling across America—a life-changing feat of 4,300 miles (and endless hills) that revolutionized his approach to teaching. Passionate about sharing these discoveries with others, Gneiting quickly turned to coaching.
As dream manager, executive coach, speech coach, and seminar leader, Gneiting has helped “provide leadership and coaching products and services . . . that have produced results far beyond our expectations and in a method that is unparalleled” (Infusionsoft).
Today Gneiting continues to help students, executives, and teams radically redefine their lives. He has led transformative adventures across the globe, from Iceland to New Zealand, racking up 32 countries to date (just 165 to go) in his quest to involve 49 million souls in the power of adventure.
