On the first day, she is intentionally intimidating to see who will stand up and leave the class. DO NOT GIVE IN TO THAT. She's fantastic and so helpful. Although I took this course before my coronation and only had one in-person lesson (sprint course), she is really attentive and empathetic. I honestly learned a lot from her class!

My qualifications lie in a combination of professional development and academic experience. My teaching, research, and service activities reflect the exploration of two broad questions: 1) How does globalization impact the nexus of race, gender, and class in terms of personal identity, social life, and societal change? and 2) How can the moral society exist in the globalized economy? I have worked with community organizations with African-American populations in the United States and with villagers in Bangladesh. In the policy arena, I have worked with the United Nations in Bangladesh, Thailand, and Indonesia. Based on my research project on masculinity and microcredit, I was invited to be a Visiting Scientist with the Women and Health Initiative (WHI), Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard. Subsequently, the South Asia Institute (SAI) at Harvard University invited me to be a Research Affiliate for 2014-2015 based on my research project on globalization, gender, and the garment industry. My project, “Progressive Muslim Masculinity in the International Order,” earned me Miami University’s nomination for the Carnegie Foundation Fellowship. A literary imagination is essential to the development of global citizenship; I, therefore, include novels in all my classes, enabling students to develop a renaissance perspective. I am currently teaching a virtual graduate seminar on microcredit, gender, and Islam to graduate students in Miami and Turkey. I have provided solutions-oriented community service at the global level to three organizations in Bangladesh, which includes the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee, the largest NonGovernment Organization in the world today.
