Project Coordinator-Office of Recruitment and Admissions
Managing the targeted communication plans and composing electronic mass communications deployed via the office’s CRM marketing software, currently Hobsons CONNECT;
Monitoring the CRM and other inquiry databases and generating appropriate reports;
Assisting with copywriting, development and creation of web and print advertising, promotion and collateral;
Assisting with the details of planning special events, including open houses and receptions for newly admitted students;
Delivering presentations and conducting campus tours for prospective students and their parents;

Acquainted students with the rules, regulation and programs of study within the university through one-on-one advisement and through group processes;
Recruited and counseled potential pre-medical and pre-health profession students for the Undergraduate Dean’s Summer Science Institute;

Evaluated transfer student transcripts; familiar with all CUNY articulation programs and equivalencies as well as other local and foreign colleges;

Academic Coordinator of the RISE Program
Identified and recruited both students and faculty to participate in the program;
Worked with college administrators to set up and run the RISE section of various science classes; Provided academic advisement for all RISE students, including indentifying problem areas and academic planning to ensure graduation in four years;
Organized and supervised Supplemental Instruction workshops, for which I received training from the University of Missouri Kansas City;
Recruited, trained and evaluated Supplemental Instruction student leaders;
Participated in the design of all publications and materials for the program;
Created and conducted evaluative surveys to monitor the progress of the program according to its mission of increasing under-represented minority students’ success in science;
Administered tools, such as the LASSI and PEEK, used in evaluating the success of the program; Conducted Human Subjects Research related to the educational goals and outcomes of the program;
Advocated the position and needs of the program participants to the Brooklyn College community; Designed and taught the study skills section of the RISE Summer Science Institute;
Provided all required support and acted as liaison for program-related faculty and student interactions;
Made changes to the program’s overall structure if deemed necessary in response to evaluations or faculty concerns;
Worked with Career Services to instruct students in the reality and availability of biomedical research careers;
Accompanied students to national biomedical research conferences, including those run by The Leadership Alliance and ABRCMS, to enable the students to network and present their own research;
Assisted in the data collection, assembly and writing of annual reports to the National Institutes of Health on the development of the program and in the preparation and resubmission of the grant proposal. The grant was funded for a further 4 years beginning in 2007 as a result.
Freelance Historical Researcher
Project: An Island Not So Far: Staten Island, New Yorkers, and Fresh Kills. Dr. Martin Melosi, University of Houston, Texas.
Conduct archival/library research on the Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island spanning the period from 1948 to 1990;
Prepare copies and scans of pertinent materials collected from print and microfilm sources for weekly submission to client.

Recruit and instruct beginning through advanced piano students of all ages
Provided individual piano lessons in students’ homes.
Designed long-term individualized curricula that provided instruction in music theory, reading, and practical piano skills.
Organized and presented a yearly recital to enable students the experience of performing before an audience.
