I am an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Montevallo, Alabama's only public liberal arts college. I am currently teaching Renaissance Poetry, British and American Literature I, and Honors Global Literature: Utopian Literature.
I earned my PhD in English at Boston College, where I specialized in Early Modern and Restoration drama.
My dissertation, Spatial Dramaturgy and Domestic Control in Early a Modern Drama, explores the interplay between 17th century architectural developments and space in early modern theater.

I have given conference talks on a variety of topics, including Shakespeare's architecture, Koran burning in the 16th century, and Shakespeare's Cougars.
I have studied Shakespeare performance at Shakespeare & Company and have attended workshops with the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in Boston. I have performed with Willing Suspensions, a company that produces non-Shakespearean early modern drama. Two of my 10-minute plays have been performed by the After Hours company at Boston College.

I worked as a Writing Consultant at the Kalamazoo College Writing Center, helping students of all abilities improve their writing.
Study Abroad Magazine Editor-in-Chief
I managed an annual full-color 40-page literary/arts magazine featuring stories, poetry, and artwork from students' study abroad 2006-07.
Writing Fellow
I worked with a group of fifteen students in the Intro to Theatre course at Boston College. I served as a writing tutor and mentor throughout the semester, and a liaison between the students and their professor.
English Instructor
I taught a number of courses at BC: First Year Writing Seminar, Literary Themes (a non-majors literature course), Poetry (for new English majors), and Shakespeare's Later Plays (an English majors elective course). I have served as a TA for British Literature I. I facilitated our Early Modern Reading Group, and organized our biennial graduate conference.
My exams focused on Restoration and Early Eighteenth Century Drama and Renaissance Drama.
I defended my dissertation, "Spatial Dramaturgy and Domestic Control in Early Modern Drama," in August 2015.
