I teach ethics
and continually employ the use of the school’s Blackboard and WebAdvisor online systems of teaching and grading tools. I am solely responsible for writing and distributing syllabi
assignment rubrics and tests
keeping records of grades
and returning graded assignments and tests in a timely fashion. I am also responsible for teaching the material chosen by the department and myself in class sessions which are held once to three times weekly
and for selecting readings
current events studies and coursework to correspond with said material. I regularly correspond with student and faculty members of the campus’s Philosophy Club
in order to exchange ideas on existing course concepts
and work on developing new courses for the Department.

Adjunct Instructor
I have also taught a special topics course for Marygrove’s MA in Social Justice Program
a class called “Empowered Nonviolence: Confronting Structural Violence and Gender Oppression.” This section was offered once per summer
or by student interest and availability. As an instructor
I made use of the school’s Blackboard online system of teaching and grading tools. I was solely responsible for writing and distributing syllabi and assignment rubrics
keeping records of grades
and developing course connections such as online meetings outside of regular class meeting periods. I was also responsible for teaching the material chosen by myself and my fellow instructors in class sessions which were held once weekly
and for selecting readings
current events studies and coursework to correspond with said material. Finally
my fellow instructors and I tracked our students’ progress on course projects
and motivated them to develop and expand said projects into the local
national
and international justice community. We had made connections for our students with organizations such as the Bioneers
Amnesty International
the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights
the Michigan Peace Team
Pax Christi
Detroit Summer
and the Detroit Area Peace and Justice Network. We had also given our students the opportunity to engage with Detroit’s elected officials in the classroom. This course allowed its students to complete their practicum requirements. I am currently in rotation to assist in teaching the Program’s core curriculum courses in “Values and Society” and “Human Rights.” I am also developing a “Study of Fiction” elective practicum course for the Program.
