I am interested in aquatic resource education and aquaculture of fish species
the development of aquaponics/hydroponics curriculum
and conservation biology management methods. I also have a strong interest in the development of curriculum for teachers in the aquatic sciences. \nMy research focus includes questions regarding fish biology (husbandry)
fish physiology
and coral propagation
and the importance of undergraduate participation in research experiences.\nSpecies I am interested in conducting research and education projects include Seahorses
Acipenseridae (Sturgeons)
Paddlefish
Salmonids
Cichlidae (Discus
Angelfish)
Ricordeidae (corallimorph propagation).\n\nI also provide extension and outreach (visiting and consulting with farmers) and advising the public and farmers on questions related to aquatic species husbandry and aquaculture. I previously coordinated lab activities and conducted experiments in aquaculture for the Frank Chapman Aquaculture Lab at the University of Florida. I provided husbandry management of our lab sturgeon species which included research collections of Gulf of Mexico
Siberian
Sevruga
Russian
and Shortnose sturgeon species. \n\nCurrently
I help manage the Aquaculture Center for SUNY Morrisville where we raise paddlefish
brook trout
rainbow trout
albino brown trout
and tiger trout.\n\nI am open to new opportunities to both develop and teach new content and to consult on various aspects of the aquaculture industry.\nTake a look at our facilities and a few of our ever evolving projects.
