By connecting the concepts to prior knowledge and making analogies, Prof. Hsu makes it understandable. He's very entertaining because he also cracks jokes during lectures. Book isn't really necessary so you better attend the lectures. He's a very effective instructor overall. I actually learned a lot from this course.

Good

Doctor Hsu is a good professor who teaches a pretty difficult class. Most of what you learn will be from the lecture. So you have to take very good notes in class. Homework takes about two to eight hours per week. He gives you a basic concept and you have to work to understand the concepts by yourself or in teacher assistant hours to fully understand it. Going to teacher assistant's hours is a must.
