Awesome
This was credibly one of the more nerve-racking classes I took over the summer, however Calculus is typically difficult. He does curve tests and quizzes, but even with the curves you won't get the grade you want if you do the minimum. He gives quite a bit of supplements, and he is prompt to offering assistance. I highly recommend touching base on limits and integrals.
Awesome
Prof. Shulman gives lots of extra credit! He actually gives about extra 10% credit for all exams. I took this online over the summer because of covid-19. All exams and quizzes were remotely proctored. We had 3 exams, 4 quizzes, and a final. Since it was an short online 8-week class, I'd say you have to study on your own to keep up.
Average
Prof. Shulman said that our first quiz would be very similar to our homework. Out of 32, our class average was 16.5. Majority of calculus teachers provide a cheat sheet for students during the sem, but Prof. Shulman doesn't seem to have much sympathy for an 8-wk summer class. At most, we do 5 examples in the 2 hours that we're in class.
Awful
Prof. Shulman isn't responsive to emails even during the covid-19 situation. I feel like he shouldn't be teaching at all.
Awful
If you really want to feel worthless about yourself, take Professor Shulman's class. His tests were always graded very hard. For example, I got the right answer, but he noted it wrong because, I got the answer in a different way. In MAT20 class, he always encourages individuality among future teachers. However, when students actually do it, he gives you nonsense.
