His lectures are helpful and he is very passionate about the subject. However, his exams are challenging. He doesn't grade homework and labs and your grades entirely come from quizzes and exams. It wasn't an easy class. He's also not an easy professor.

Dr. Shell is always accessible both outside of class and after class to answer any questions you may have. The class really is hard, the material is covered very rapidly. 85% of your grade will be tests and final. However, if you actually do the labs, it's an easy B. Also, it is intro programming so there are lots of videos online for those who want an A.
