Awesome
This was one of my favorite classes ever. Professor Dudley is passionate about teaching sociology! Even though class was required, it was interesting nevertheless. There was a whole lot of required reading but at the end he gives you a choice between an essay or a multiple choice exam.. My advice: take the essay (my grade went up a whole letter grade)...
Good
The course is interesting and should not require too much effort to pass. It is just that I am failing. There is plenty of information available and it should not require too much effort. I am not getting it and it does not require too much effort. I did not thoroughly read every assigned chapter of the two extra textbooks and still I did well on exams. Extra credit opportunities of attendance and a book report have the potential to raise my grade by an entire letter. I did thoroughly read every assigned chapter of the two extra textbooks and I still did not do well on the exams.
Average
Prof. Poston is funny and nice guy. He has a good sense of humor and is pretty much passionate about demography. He never gives reviews for test and there are tons of reading to do. Most exams cover 4-5 powepoints that include at least 100 slides. He curves generously but there can be too much info at times. You can get extra credit for writing a book review and not missing class.
