Goals:To provide rating advisory services, credit analysis and investment advice and counseling. My areas of expertise include the rating agency and financial guarantor industries, structured finance and the US municipal market.

Background: Before the recent failures of the rating agencies, I spent 23 years at Moody's where I was the founding managing director of the Structured Finance Group and went on to head up the Industrial Group, the Speculative Grade Team, the Utility and Energy Group and lastly the Municipal Department. In 2001, I moved to Financial Security Assurance, the 3rd largest monoline financial guarantor at that time, where I became the chief underwriting officer for US asset-backed securities and global pooled corporate securities. We avoided the worst of the credit crisis declining to insure ABS CDO securities. FSA came through the crisis with AAA and AA ratings as 7 of the 8 competing financial guarantors stopped writing new business in 2008.
