Government Affairs
Instrumental in the strategic vision of the Nebraska National Guard, and its 4600 members, by interpreting guidance laid out by U.S. Congress, Department of Defense, the Nebraska legislature, and Governor Ricketts. I helped create a five year strategic plan providing a road map for funding issues, infrastructure increases, retention, mission attraction, and mission sustainment. I continually operate at the strategic and operational level to create, and then execute, positive change within the organization.
• Primary liaison for advancing organization’s agenda with elected officials at the state and federal level, as well as civic groups, Department of Defense, and other key stakeholders. I have created and evaluated special reports by analyzing key issues, including sensitive topics, and then prepared responses to military leadership, elected officials, and the public domain. I have established and maintained a strong network of key stakeholders in the state, as well as at the national level.
• Lead innovation advocate – I am the project lead for the Air Force and Department of Defense for autonomous delivery vehicles. I created the strategic roadmap for connecting private industry with Department of Defense through AFWERX to provide autonomous delivery vehicles to all Air Force bases, Department of Defense locations, and deployed locations. This project, the first of its kind, will save lives while bringing millions in revenue to private industry partners.
• I am responsible for drafting legislative language and policies to help further organization’s strategic growth. I constantly provide solutions through communication and strategic thinking. I focus on reputation management and pride myself on the coordinated and developed public policy advocacy agendas with key federal, state, and international government decision makers.
