The abstract provides details of Chabert Medical Center' success in the elimination of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAPs) in critical care unit patients for 18 prior months thru a multi-disciplinary team approach to changes in a patient's vital signs, blood gases, signs and other symptoms of respiratory distress while ventilated. this project improves patient care, safety, cost, and decrease complications, injury or death due to mechanical ventilation.
