Honestly, I don't like history but Prof. Houpt makes the class so engaging and will keep you awake with his commentary. He is very passionate and blunt. If history is boring for you, I highly recommend this class. However, you will have to write a lot in this class. He gives 2 papers and exams/quizzes are 75% writing. He kind of expects a lot for an intro class, but he really wants you to understand the material.
