David A. Miller is a NYC-area based director, playwright, and educator. David is Associate Professor of Theatre at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA where he directs productions and teaches all levels of acting, directing and playwriting.
As a director, teaching artist, actor, stage manager or administrator David has worked with theaters throughout the country, including Amphibian Stage Productions (Fort Worth, TX), Seattle Children's Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Festival, Annex Theatre, Wooden O Theatre, Printer's Devil Theater, George Street Playhouse, McCarter Theater, and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In New York David has worked with id Theater, Prospect Theater Company, Vital Theatre Company, The New Acting Company, Dixon Place, Hangar Theater, Syracuse Stage, Piper Theatre Company, Brooklyn Arts Exchange and the Old Stone House. He is the former founding Artistic Director of the Brooklyn-based The Artful Conspirators.
Past leadership positions include Director of Educational Outreach at Seattle Children's Theatre, Director of the Theater Program at Manhattan College, Artistic Director of CityKids Repertory Company (NYC) and Director of Education at Roundabout Theatre Company, New York, NY. Past teaching positions adjunct faculty member at Kingsborough Community College (Brooklyn), Wagner College, City College's Graduate Program in Educational Theatre and a a guest director for playwriting courses at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School (NYU).
Drama League Director's Project alum. MFA in Directing from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
