Professor Lovell is one of the greatest teachers I've ever had the enjoyment of taking. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and a fantastic professor, but he is a great individual who cares profoundly about the achievement of his students. He's fair above all else. If you show up to the class and try, you will receive an A.

Good
Prof. Lovell is an amazing teacher. He expects lots from students but is really manageable. Be prepared to read lots from the material out of the classroom. He wrote the textbook so he expects you to read it. He covers enough so you aren't lost at home even though he doesn't go over everything in class. If you really want to learn, take him.

I am an experienced and versatile professional who has worked in public service, fundraising, journalism and higher education. I have eight plus years of experience teaching political science at several colleges. I have written a book on Texas political science and research and published in the areas of education and housing policy.
In addition to teaching I have worked as a beat writer for Major League Soccer’s website, MLSsoccer.com, covering the Houston Dynamo on a daily basis. Work on a freelance basis covering professional sports for the Associated Press.
In the past I have worked for state and local government and non-government organizations concentrating in grant and proposal writing.
