Awesome

Professor O'Neill is a great guy and lecturer; he is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and funny. There is lots of reading to do, 6 books, but the lectures help you understand it a lot better. I love that he doesn't use Canvas. Papers are just the book and you, no outside resources, so be sure to read. He will give you the midterm questions so you can plan ahead. I really learned a lot.

Average

This was a very difficult class to take, way too much reading and writing that was graded too harshly, remember this is an introductory class. Professor O'Neill made it engaging, but there was a lot of concentration on the class as well as studying.

Good

Prof. O'Neill is an awesome lecturer who has a real passion for political theory. The TA's are key though. You need to be sure you are on a good track with them, and begin your outlines and papers early so that they can check them out during office hours. I received a C on my first paper but after I went to office hours I got my grade up to a B because they helped me so much.
