Topics include measures of central tendency and dispersion; probability and sampling distributions, methods of evaluating hypotheses and testing inferential statistics (t-tests, chi-square, ANOVA, correlation and regression). PSYCH 105, Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences
This class focuses on statistics as applied to the social sciences including such topics as measurement, frequency distributions, measures of central tendency, measures of variability, the normal distribution curve, correlation, sampling, statistical inference, hypothesis testing and an introduction to analysis of variance.
PSYCH 201, Research Methods for the Behavioral Sciences
This course will examine the biological basis of behavior. Topics will include basic neuro-anatomy and neurophysiology, nervous system structure and functions, brain-behavior relationships underlying movement, sensation, perception, learning, memory, consciousness, emotion, language, and psychological disorders. This course will also examine the scientific method and current research on brain-behavior relationships and mental processes.
