Cynthia
Roberts, Ed.D.
Portland, Oregon Area
I thrive best in environments that are challenging and like to know that I am contributing to the well being or success of others. As a leader, I prefer to lead in a participatory style by developing the trust of my staff. I will work hard to ensure that my staff are supported so that we can meet our obligations to the organization and individuals that we serve.
My work summary:
Over nine years in higher education, seven as an instructor of business and graphic design courses plus 2+ years as program coordinator, managing the humanities and foundation arts programs at The Art Institute of Portland.
Six years as Navy Journalist with duties that included photography, electronic news gathering, news anchor, radio DJ, public affairs, press release writing, and newspaper layout.
Seven years of serving developmentally disabled clients as an attendant counselor with the State of Washington where I held positions of increasing responsibility from interim shift charge at an institution to 24-hour manager of community based group homes.
