Professor V is the absolute best! She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. The textbook isn't needed because she will post any reading material that you need online for you. She does record attendance, but honestly, she is so great that you will want to go to class. SHe has a great teaching style and will reference past student examples and questions to help you.
