I’m a passionate and driven education professional who’s always seeking to be better at what I do so I can help others be better at what they do. I love learning and trying new things, which is part of why I’ve worked in education in so many different capacities.
I’ve worked in education for 7 years. I've taken on new challenges and tasks nearly every year in my journey as an educator. I started as a tutor, became a teacher, then a writing consultant/editor, and most recently a course design assistant. In the past 4 years I’ve designed a number of courses in a variety of departments for students ranging from sophomores in high school to juniors in college. I’ve designed courses for a traditional format, a hybrid format, and a fully online format. For a complete list of courses I’ve designed and taught, see below in my LinkedIn profile.
Currently, I work a number of odd jobs in the field of education. I teach 1-2 classes each semester at CU, and I've also grown much more involved in educational support roles. I work as a writing consultant at two different universities helping very different types of students succeed. I also help newer teachers hit the ground running and I enjoy helping others discover the joy of teaching. Recently I've started to work with more experienced teachers, helping them try new things, such as making their class more accessible to non-traditional students, or redesigning an old course to fit a new format (such as hybrid or online).
It is very important to me that I do the most good I can. For this reason, I'm always working on polishing my teaching style, and maximizing student mastery.
I love helping people and education has allowed me to do that as a career. I like variety and working the diverse educational jobs I’ve worked has made sure I’m never bored. More than just not being bored, I thrive with this sort of variety.

Writing Consultant
I tutor individual students remotely using meeting software (Zoom, AdobeConnect, Skype). I work with students to address concerns as small as grammar and as large as intention and organization. I have helped people with smaller papers, theses, dissertations, works of fiction, and many others.
Private Tutor
I have been a private tutor for nearly a decade. I identify student goals and needs, and then work with the student to maintain a regular schedule and assignments as necessary. Regular work includes proofreading, editing, test preparation, college readiness, organization skills, and language tutoring.
Curriculum Design Assistant
I assist Evening Credit instructors in designing and improving their hybrid courses. This involves communicating with them, planning and offering workshops and open discussion sessions, sitting in on the classroom portion of their classes and other related activities designed to help them with their hybrid classes.
Temporary Online Course Design Assistant
Worked with the Online Credit division of CU’s Continuing Education program doing course design in the 2019 summer. This involves communicating with instructors, introducing and training them on various technical matters, introducing them to online teaching and learning habits, and creating a training course for new instructors. This requires a high level of familiarity and confidence with the Canvas LMS, Zoom, and other pieces of software used in teaching, as well as pedagogy and student use patterns. Onboarding new faculty is another major part of this position.
Writing Consultant
I work with students in the Master of Science in Organization Leadership Program (MSOL), a program recently launched by the Continuing Education school at CU. These students are located all over the country and most have jobs, so meetings occur remotely at all times of day. I regularly communicate with the faculty to keep updated on writing assignments and reach out to at-risk students. I am responsible for all scheduling, communication, and assistance in this position.
