GRPH 2B06 / Typography 2 — Second-year core studio focusing on the normative & conceptual principles of typographic structures, basic principles of visual hierarchy & grid structures, & the syntactic, semantic & pragmatic qualities of typography.
GRPH 2B07 / Communication: Surface, Object, Space — Second-year core studio introducing students to the elements, principles & processes used in the development of 3-D forms, including architectural, exhibit, wayfinding, & packaging design.
GRPH 2B08 / Graphic Design 1 — Second-year core studio introducing students to the basics of effective graphic design, including form, composition, image, type, and layout. Design theory is applied to a series of major design projects, including the design of posters, publications, visual identities, and corporate materials.
Studio Instructor (Part Time)
Currently teaching the following courses:
VISM 3002 / Visual Analytics & Data Visualization — Third/fourth-year elective provides an introduction to the emerging field of data analytics, which involves data extraction knowledge derived from computer science and data analysis. It considers the use of cognitive science to represent and analyze large-scale data sets. Finally, it provides an in-depth exploration of information design and data visualization theory, methods, and best practices.
GDES 3007 / Wayfinding & Information Systems — Third/fourth-year elective studio focusing on information design and data visualization best practices, wayfinding concepts, and designing for the easy and intuitive navigation of the built environment.
