As an assistant professor at the College of Charleston School of Business I have a variety of interests to utilize my professional history and education in the classroom and through a robust research agenda.
Academically, I teach business strategy, data analytics, and organizational behavior. To help students learn, I bring a mix of academic resources as well the perspective of someone with more than 12 years of professional experience in a Fortune 500 company. In the MBA program, I teach the Capstone course which covers a wide-variety of topics including: operational efficiency, business valuation, general marketing all through the overarching lens of business strategy.
From a research perspective, I have projects that focus in three main areas: diversity, strategy, and research methods. In terms of diversity I focus on neurodiversity at work and how we can eliminate the barriers to employment that so many individuals seem to face as evidenced by high levels of un- or underemployment particularly among autistic individuals. I recently started to examine how environmental and social responsibility may influence, or not, companies performance and how they are viewed by their customers. Finally, I use a variety research methods in my research from item response theory to grounded theory resulting in publications across a number of outlets.
In addition, I am interested in using my professional background in market research and data science for consulting purposes. Projects that I have an interest in include marrying market research and data science solutions to organizational strategy.
